Update June 2016...

It's been some time since I updated this blog but I thought I would as it has now been 12 months since we moved in!

The landscaping has been a nightmare, we have definitely learnt our lesson on buying a sloping block! It's all getting done slowly and we are happy with what we've done so far.

We are still chasing Beechwood to finish our maintenance list. This seems to be common amongst customers of theirs!

We are so happy with how the house looks and would build with Beechwood again if the price was right!

Update...

Sorry for the long time between posts! It's been over 4 months since we moved in and the house is great.

We completed our 90 day maintenance and had 22 items outstanding that need to be fixed. We heard back almost straight away from Beechwood and after that nothing. So I'll need to keep on there backs. In hind sight, I wish we had waited another week and gotten a few more things checked off before handover and would definitely do this next time, yes I am already designing the next house!

So what's next? Our landscaping started this week and it's very exciting! We have two 1 meter high retaining walls and they should be finished in the next two weeks, weather permitting.

It'll be great to finally be able to sit out on the alfresco and enjoy it. We are going to put concrete up both sides to the end of the alfresco and grass the back and front. We originally wanted decking on the side of the alfresco but we aren't sure how often you need to oil it and hubby thinks it'll be too much maintenance :(

Yay for pendant lights!

Post Handover pics!

So we have been in for a little over 2 weeks and we still have so much unpacking to do!

We are loving our new house, so happy with the upgrades we chose and how the colours have all come together!

We decided to finish off the landscaping and retaining walls before buying new furniture and have been blessed with furniture and a fridge from my DH's family. We need to have it all finished before christmas as we have invited all our family for the holidays!

Blinds for all rooms have been ordered and will be delivered and installed in (fingers crossed) 2 weeks!

We still haven't decided on pendant lights for the kitchen and bedrooms but to be honest we haven't looked much, just so excited to be in the house, unpacking has taken up most of our time.

We're in!

So excited to share that we had handover on Friday 3 June!

The house is finally all ours. I have the key to prove it (and there's a lot of them!). DH unfortunately had to work so I had to attend the handover by myself.

The move begins this weekend eep!

27 May 2015

It's the final countdown!!!!!!!

Not much has been done this week which is a shame, flyscreens, taps and gas outlets installed and just a few more things to go and we are finished!

All that's left:

- Garage Door
- Air conditioning fit out
- Shower screens
- Mirrors
- Carpet
- Living/Dining tiles
Water tank
- Hot water system
- Appliances

Our post-handover work which is booked in and ready to go – is looking a little like this:

- Driveway
- Mirror splashback
- Bathroom accessories
- Blinds

We have received a hand over date but are seriously doubting everything will get done before the date, hence why we will be keeping the date hush hush until we feel more confident it's achievable!

Tiling and lighting :D

Electrical fitout complete, looks fabulous! It's so nice being able to go though at night and have light instead of having to use the torch on our phones!
